Whether you admire its fresh green color canoeing during summer or absorb the snow flakes falling while it becomes a winter wonderland, the Emerald Lake of Canada is one peaceful retreat next to a luxurious, cozy lodge. Here you get to replace the hustle and bustle with the sounds of wildlife, to relax in a warm atmosphere in front of a fireplace and you even to celebrate your wedding day in the pure arms of Mother Earth. One of the top five resorts in the whole country, Emerald Lake has a unique flora because of its low elevation and the extreme changes of temperatures from the hot to the cold season.
A Fascinating Discovery
The mystic lake with emerald waters is the largest among the 61 lakes and ponds located in the Yoho National Park in Canada's British Columbia. The scenery here is a pure delight as the gem like waters are enclosed by mountains of the President Range like Mount Burgess or the Wapta Mountain.
Emerald Lake was the fascinating discovery of the famed guide Tom Wilson. The accident site which was first admired in 1882 was baptized according to its primary color, a shade caused by the particles of glacial sediment. Talking about this Canadian highlight, its discoverer declared ''For a moment I sat on my horse and enjoyed the rare, peaceful beauty of the scene''.
A Welcoming Host
Declared one of the top 9 cozy winter lodges of Canada, the Emerald Lake Lodge is the retreat accommodation to offer guests the best of nature and the finest comfort. Opened in 1986, this mountain getaway is located about 20 minutes West of Lake Louise. Aside from the location in the heart of the mountains with views over the romantic greens, this lodge is famed for the activities organized every season and the cozy, warm atmosphere provided.
Wildflowers or Snowmen?
The jade waters of Emerald Lake are appreciated both in the warm and cold season. A trip here during summer, you may get to experience some rain but late June and early July are the months when the unique vegetation here is best observed. More than that, summer activities include rafting, fishing, canoeing, rock climbing or mountain biking. When the snow starts to fall you will be amazed with the heaviness of the shining white cover found here. With a frozen nose and rosy cheeks you can go skiing, ice skating or have a snowball fight. Tours around the Emerald Lake and the amazing surroundings inside the Yoho National Park are available all year through if nature ''doesn't object''.
Replace the busy city with the a vacation where there is no unpleasant noise. Go for nature and for the activities in the wild while you still enjoy full comfort at the pristine, jade waters of Canada's Emerald Lake.
